In a large wok, heat oil. Add 1 tsp mustard seeds, 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 tsp Bengal gram. Stir for a few seconds. Add 10-12 curry leaves, dash of Asafoetida, 1 tsp turmeric powder. Stir again. Toss in 1 tbsp raisins, 1 or 2 tbspns cashew nuts, 1 tbspn broken walnuts. Mix well, add 2-3 cps of beaten rice. Mix well. Add salt, and sugar as needed.
